An agile and innovative organisation, Object takes a maverick's approach to the definition of design and believes that creative innovation occurs most successfully through exploring the unexplored and pursuing the hybrid.

Object nurtures bold ambitions, constantly seeking ways to reinterpret design for our audiences and the community. Through visionary exhibitions, education programs, publications and retail activities, we strive to make connections between creative minds right across the country, heighten awareness of outstanding design, and of course, play host to the best of Australian craft and design.    

Object's influence extends beyond Sydney with nationally distributed publications and touring exhibitions travelling to more than 15 regional and metropolitan venues around Australia every year. Through its programs, Object provides a lively and accessible connection between people and the dynamic world of design and creativity.

Object is supported by the Visual Arts and Craft Strategy, an initiative of the Australian, State and Territory Governments. Object is assisted by the New South Wales Government - Arts NSW, and the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body.

Object is a non-profit organisation - exhibitions, programming and operations are also funded through contributions from foundations, individuals and corporations, and through commercial activities.
