Issue 56

Patterns, Prototypes and Blueprints

August 2008

Issue 56 of Object Magazine is now on sale. This issue we focus our attention on the evolutionary process of ‘the making’ - investigating the patterns, prototypes and blueprints behind a selection of truly inspiring creators. We explore the making processes of Adam Goodrum, Stefan Lie and Gilbert Riedelbauch - three Australian designers embracing rapid prototyping technologies. We also uncover the techniques and the resulting ideas and systems that fashion designers employ in their designing processes.

In this issue, we profile the inspiring Rangi Kipa, one of the most exciting practitioners working in New Zealand today, and prove that works of art can indeed be worn when we examine the sculptural knitwear of Sandra Backlund.

Issue 55

Sick of all talk and no action when it comes to sustainability? Well here's one way Object is walking the talk! Object Magazine is now printed on uncoated, environmentally-friendly paper, and also saving around 1000 litres of water each issue by using a waterless press.

It's not only the stock that has changed - the revamped Issue 55 represents a whole new look for Object Magazine . With the same strong focus on designer s and makers, we think you'll love the stronger, bolder, more experimental design.
