Children 5 years and older can learn traditional dance in this movement session with Peta Strachan, accomplished performer, choreographer and descendant of the Booroberongal Clan of the Darug nation.

‘Tell Me a Story’ Kids Workshops - An Associated event for Art&About 2014

Wednesday 1 October 9am, 11am and 1pm

Using illustration, performance and craft to share stories, these imaginative and inspiring workshops are designed for kids.
As part of the Lola Greeno: Cultural Jewels exhibition program, the workshops draw on Lola and the sharing of her own indigenous stories in her work.
We are offering three exciting kids workshops during the school holidays, all on the one fun day - Wednesday 1st October.

A conversation moderated by esteemed journalist and broadcaster Caroline Baum, with indigenous artist Lola Greeno, Object’s 8th Living Treasure: Masters of Australian Craft series and Lucy Simpson, a young contemporary textile designer and artist.

Lola Greeno: Cultural Jewels

30 August – 11 October 2014

Lola Greeno: Cultural Jewels is the eighth in our Living Treasures: Masters of Australian Craft series. Our first Indigenous Living Treasure, Greeno is a shellworker and artist from Tasmania, whose career spans 30 years. Her stunning work is highly coveted by both public and private collectors alike.

This exhibition is a collaboration with the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery in Launceston, where the exhibition will open, ahead of its showing at Object Gallery from 30 August – 11 October 2014. Lola Greeno: Cultural Jewels will be accompanied by a beautiful monograph and digital content, with the monograph for the first time also being published as an eBook.

WOOD: art design architecture explores innovative and outstanding uses of wood in contemporary Australian art, design and architecture. It is the result of a collaboration between two iconic South Australian organisations, JamFactory and the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide.
