Circle of Design Walking Tour
 
Did you know that Object Gallery is on the old site of St Margaret's Hospital for Women? Object Gallery was once the hospital chapel.
 
The Circle of Design Walking tour begins at Object Gallery, St Margaret's, Bourke St Surry Hills and 'circles' around the main roads and back lanes.
 
From St Margaret's urban precinct you can look into the past and at the present simultaneously. The 19th century terraces around the area are some of the oldest in Sydney and the 20th century hospital buildings have been converted into an apartment complex. The creative use of glass and other materials found in recent buildings demonstrate the energy and imagination of 21st century architects.
 
Tours can be tailored to suit all ages.
